Piano Companion is a comprehensive music theory app designed to assist songwriters, producers, teachers, and students. This user-friendly piano chords and scales dictionary is equipped with an array of features including user libraries, reverse mode, the circle of 5ths, and a chord progression builder with common patterns. With Piano Companion, finding the name of a piano chord or scale is effortless as it allows users to search by keys or by using an external MIDI keyboard. For instance, with just a few clicks, you can find C Major by pressing C and G. In the event that you can't locate a specific chord or scale, this app allows you to create a custom one that can be used for chord charts or your personal library.

The Piano Companion app presents chord and scale notes on the grand staff, relative scales, intervals, and fingering for both major and minor scales. Additionally, users have the freedom to contribute their own custom fingering. The app also offers features such as practicing scales in different keys and clefs, practicing progressions, as well as the ability to listen to how a scale or chord sounds when looped or arpeggiated. Furthermore, users can access lists of compatible chords within a selected scale or compatible scales for a selected chord.

Piano Companion streamlines the process of composing, practicing progressions, and experimenting with different chord progressions through its Chord Progression Builder which provides relative or common chords. With over 1500 piano chords and 10,000 scales including major, minor, diminished, augmented, sevenths, Ionian (major), Aeolian (minor), Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Locrian, Harmonic minor, Melodic Minor and many more - Piano Companion offers an extensive range of options for musicians of all levels.
